This is a time tested special purpose rifle for camping, pilots, boats and survial kits. It is so light it floats so it is great for boats. It makes an accurate hunting and survival carbine. The green camo paint job does a good job of keeping this one low profile
According to Wikipedia, The ArmaLite AR-7, designed by Eugene Stoner, is the civilian-commercial version of a rifle adopted by the US Air Force as a pilot and aircrew survival weapon. Its main market is as a knockabout rifle for carrying in a backpack, car trunk or pickup truck.
It breaks down into parts that fit in the floating stock
The receiver screws into the front of the stock the screw is in the pistol grip
The receiver and stock meet to form a large yet comfortable grip
The barrel has a key that fits in a gap in the receiver
Once the barrel is lined up, a nut is tightened to keep it in place
The stock also holds a spare magazine which inserts in front of the trigger and locks solidly in place. This one was built by Survival Arms model AR-7 built in the 1990s
